Our aim is to improve access and quality of education for bright but needy students through the provision of scholarships, mentoring programs for undergraduate scholars to prepare them to be better equipped, learning tools and improved public school infrastructure including expanding our sources of funding through strategic partnerships with like minded organizations.

Nuru Yangu Scholarship and Mentorship Program

NMB Foundation established Nuru Yangu Scholarship and Mentorship Program to support education with the aim to break the cycle of poverty and develop the next generation of leaders through increased access to secondary and university education.

We look to ignite the potential of young people who are thirsty for knowledge, dreaming of a better tomorrow and have a desire to make a difference in the world. This is an achievement-based scholarship and mentorship program targeting students from low-income communities who are exceptional and can commit to making an impact in their communities and the country.

Scholarship

For undergraduate studies: the scholarship covers full tuition fee, stipend allowance, field allowance, stationeries and laptops, and all direct costs to university as per prospectus

For A-level studies: the scholarship covers full tuition fee, stationeries, transport to school and back home (for boarders), pocket money, health insurance (NHIF card), and other requirements as per joining instructions of respective schools in which participating scholars study.

Mentorship

Undergraduate Scholarship recipients are also enrolled into a mentorship program that gives them an opportunity to develop practical and in demand skills that are key to progress their career ambitions. The mentorship program also gives an opportunity for the Foundation to discuss performance of the scholars with their respective Universities.

GUIDELINES

NOTE 1: The information provided in this form is intended to help the Nuru Yangu Scholarship Selection.

Committee assess applicant’s academic and financial position as a basis of awarding scholarship.

Candidates are required to:
  1. Ensure you register your profile before proceeding to the application page to fill your information.
  2. Fill the application form accurately and completely (all incomplete or inaccurately filled forms will be rejected automatically).
  3. Ensure you click SAVE to save your information before clicking CLOSE to leave the application page and return later, or clicking NEXT to move to next page.
  4. Scan and attach certified copies of all the documents required before submitting the application form (All documents must be saved in PDF format and any application without relevant documents will not be considered).
  5. Be ready to timely provide original copies of all the scanned documents for verification.
  6. Review your information before submitting your application. You will not be allowed to edit any information once you have submitted your application form.

NOTE 2:

  1. Completion and submission of this form is not a guarantee for sponsorship
  2. Any false statements, omissions or forged documents will lead to automatic disqualification
  3. NMB Foundation through the Nuru Yangu selection committee, reserves the right to make the final determination of scholarship beneficiaries
  4. Only candidates who completed ACSEE and meet other criteria are eligible for scholarship
  5. Only applications that are submitted before the deadline date will be considered for further processing
  6. Only shortlisted or selected candidates will be contacted
  7. Candidates may be contacted at any time if additional information is required.
